MER = Total Revenue / Total Marketing Spend. Unlike ROAS which is calculated per channel, MER gives a single efficiency score for your entire marketing operation. A healthy D2C MER is typically 3-6× depending on margin profile. MER became increasingly important post-iOS when individual channel attribution became less reliable.
