White label CRO services let your agency sell conversion work under its own name while a partner handles research, design and development. Sell three separate products: audits, testing programs and Shopify builds. Published retail prices run $500 to $10,000 for an audit and $2,000 to $15,000 a month for testing. Testing only works above roughly 20,000 to 30,000 monthly sessions.
Most pages about white label CRO list providers or promise lifts. Few show the traffic math that decides what a client can buy, how to package CRO for stores too small to test, or what the agency keeps after delivery costs. This guide covers those three.
What do white label CRO services include?
Three products with different buyers, prices and staffing. Mixing them into one "CRO retainer" is where most resale problems start.

The session bands are our working rule, built from the traffic sources in the next section. Retail ranges vary widely because scope varies widely. For a brand-side view of the same prices, see Shopify CRO agency cost.
How much traffic does a client need before you sell A/B testing?
More than most Shopify stores have on any single page. The number depends on the conversion rate and the size of lift you want to detect.
Skai Lama works one example: a store converting at 2%, looking for a 20% relative lift at 95% significance and 80% power, needs about 21,000 visitors per variation. Kameleoon shows that halving the detectable lift needs four times the traffic. At a 2% baseline and a 5% lift, its example needs almost 310,000 visits per variation.
| Lift to detect at a 2% conversion rate |
Visitors per variation |
Total for a two-way test |
| 20% |
About 21,000 |
About 42,000 |
| 5% |
About 310,000 |
About 620,000 |
Sources draw the cutoff in slightly different places. One Shopify guide says stores under 20,000 monthly sessions lack the traffic for valid tests, and 30,000+ is enough. One CRO review says pages under 10,000 monthly visitors take 4 to 8 weeks per test. Check a client's sessions before you quote a testing program, not after.
How should an agency package white label CRO for clients?
Build a ladder that matches traffic, so every client has something to buy.
Step 1: Audit and fix sprint. A one-time fee. The partner checks tracking, reviews key pages by device, runs recordings and a short survey, and ships the top fixes. This suits every client, because a broken size selector is a bug, not a hypothesis.
Step 2: Monthly optimization. For clients below the testing threshold. Ship 4 to 8 fixes a month and track revenue per session before and after. Be honest in reporting: before and after numbers move with season and ad spend, so present them as directional.
Step 3: Testing program. For clients with the traffic. State the test count per month, the research cadence and who builds variants. A retainer that only sells hours is hard for a client to compare and easy to cancel.
Step 4: Build. A fixed-scope project with a launch date, sold when the audit shows the theme itself blocks the fixes.
Expect clients to ask about term. One review notes 6-month minimums are common on testing retainers. Our white label marketing pricing guide covers how to set resale prices across services.
What does it cost to deliver white label CRO?
Three cost lines: people, tools and your own review time.
People. A testing program needs a CRO analyst for research and readouts, a designer for variants and a Shopify developer to build them. Sorted's dedicated pods start at $21,600 per specialist per year, or $1,800 a month. A US hire costs $110,000+ all-in. One Shopify guide puts the average US CRO salary at about $71,000, and $80,000 to $120,000+ for experienced hires, before benefits.
Tools. Google Optimize is no longer available as of September 30, 2023, so testing now needs a paid tool or Shopify's own. Convert's Growth plan costs $299 a month billed annually, or $399 monthly, with 100,000 tested users a month. Microsoft Clarity for recordings and heatmaps is free. Shopify's Rollouts feature, announced in June 2026, can A/B test two entire themes or checkout setups from the admin.
Review. Someone on your team approves every test plan and readout before the client sees it.
What margin can an agency make reselling CRO?
Here is a worked example with a fictional agency. The prices come from the sources above.
A 15-person Shopify agency in Austin sells two testing programs at $5,000 a month each. That is the bottom of one review's $5,000 to $8,500 range for a store doing $250,000 a month. It also sells one $2,500 audit a month, the top of the same review's audit range.
| Line |
Monthly amount |
| Revenue: 2 testing programs |
$10,000 |
| Revenue: 1 audit |
$2,500 |
| Pod: 1 CRO specialist and 1 Shopify developer at $1,800 each |
$3,600 |
| Testing tool: Convert Growth, billed annually |
$299 |
| Recordings: Microsoft Clarity |
$0 |
| Agency review: 16 hours at $34 an hour ($71,000 salary / 2,080 hours, before benefits) |
$546 |
| Total delivery cost |
$4,445 |
| Gross margin |
$8,055, or 64% |
Without the audit, margin is $5,555 on $10,000, or 56%. Add a designer to the pod and margin drops by $1,800 a month. Both programs depend on enough traffic to run real tests, so qualify clients first.
Two checks before you copy this. One review advises clients to add 30 to 50% to the retainer for tools, research and development. If your package excludes those, say so in the proposal. And watch capacity: one analyst can run a limited number of tests well. For tracking margin by client, see agency gross margin per account.

On Shopify, give the partner a collaborator account with only the permissions the work needs. Build variants on a duplicate theme, never the live one. Include checkout tracking in every audit. Shopify notes that since August 28, 2025, the additional scripts section is view-only, so older tracking set up there needs checking.
Put access, IP and non-solicit terms in writing first. Our white label agency agreement guide lists the clauses. For the review step, see offshore quality control review layer. For Shopify development beyond CRO, read white label Shopify development for agencies.
When is white label CRO the wrong choice?
Four cases where a partner will not fix the problem.
The client has too little traffic for testing. Selling a testing program to a store with 8,000 monthly sessions means months per test and a frustrated client. Sell the audit and fix sprint instead.
Nobody on your team can read a test. If you cannot question a readout, you cannot defend it to a client. Hire or train one person first.
The client wants an embedded CRO lead. Some brands want a person in their standups making calls on the roadmap. That is strategy work, and it belongs with your team or a direct hire.
The client's own developers control the theme. If every change waits in their queue, your partner sits idle and you pay for it. Agree on deploy access before you sell.
